Lara M. Rios Named a Top Hispanic Attorney Under 40 by Hispanic National Bar Association


MIAMI (March 25, 2019) – Holland & Knight Senior Counsel Lara M. Rios was honored by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) with its prestigious "Top Lawyers Under 40" award at a reception during the 2019 HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 21. She was among 36 exceptional attorneys selected for the award.

The "Top Lawyers Under 40" award honors accomplished lawyers from around the country who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community and dedication to improving the legal profession.

“We are proud to honor 36 of our Latino and Latina lawyers and community leaders from across the nation,” said Jennifer Salinas, HNBA national president. “Once again this year, the HNBA received record-breaking nominations. The number of highly qualified nominees illustrates the progress our community is making in the areas of law and leadership.”

Ms. Rios works in Holland & Knight’s Miami and New York offices as a member of the Financial Services and Latin America teams. She represents a wide range of lenders, corporate borrowers, project developers and private equity sponsors in cross-border and domestic financing transactions, with a focus on the energy/infrastructure industry and Latin America.

Ms. Rios was recently recognized as a "Notable Practitioner" by the International Finance Law Review and she has led two Latin American infrastructure project financings that have received “Deal of the Year” designation.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Rios was deputy general counsel at ContourGlobal, an international power generation company with energy projects in 17 countries, and previously worked at Latham & Watkins and Cravath, Swaine and Moore in New York. Ms. Rios received her J.D. degree from the University of Chicago and her B.A. degree from Yale University.
