Labor & Employment Online Seminar Series - RIFs Done Right
The Labor & Employment practice continues its Online Series with a practical and timely program focused on "Reductions in Force." Although many companies are responding to the downturn in the economy by considering cut backs in the number of employees, a number of those organizations appear to be insufficiently informed about some of the business options and the various laws that impact such decisions.
This one-hour presentation will discuss the reasons for, alternatives to and types of reductions in force and then will address the design, preparation and implementation of an involuntary reduction in force, focusing on the applicable laws, necessary documents and recommended "best practices" for providing severance benefits, communicating the decisions to affected and surviving employees, minimizing workplace disruption and avoiding "wrongful termination" litigation in various industries.
Join Bill deMeza, head of our Tampa Labor & Employment Team, to hear about important and practical ways to help your organization meet the challenges presented by these difficult situations.
