Ethics in Social Media 2022

Data Strategy, Security & Privacy Partner Mark Francis will chair a Practising Law Institute program on the ethics of using social media in a law practice. Presentations will examine a host of issues - including what types of personal information employers are permitted to access without the consent of their employees or applicants; best practices for privacy and data security; the attorney-client privilege and social media; the use of social media in screening jurors and witnesses and many others. They will also examine recent federal guidance and ethics opinions from The New York City Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers' Association.
