Public Policy & Regulation attorney Meaghan Colligan Hembree will participate in the Food & Drug Law Institute's 2025 Enforcement, Litigation and Compliance Conference in Washington, D.C. This annual program brings together industry leaders to discuss key enforcement and compliance trends affecting the drug, device, food and tobacco sectors, including recent litigation, settlements and agency priorities at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other agencies. Ms. Hembree will speak on a session examining state-level initiatives that arise when FDA exercises enforcement discretion. She will address evolving state laws on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in packaging, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), compostability labeling, greenwashing mitigation and enforcement, ingredient disclosures, nicotine sales restrictions and related federal preemption issues under Section 310(a).
