Georgia's New Sexual Misconduct Policy

In recent years the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has significantly increased the standard for investigating complaints of sexual misconduct. However, the OCR has largely refused to provide an exact template of an acceptable sexual misconduct policy that would satisfy the varied criteria they have set forth, resulting in states drafting their own legislation and governing policies. Georgia is one of the earliest states to implement a policy that went into effect on July 1, 2016, so their policy is worth review in the broader discussion of sexual misconduct.
