Recent Disasters Highlight Drug Shortage Problem

After Hurricane Maria, multiple drug manufacturing facilities in Puerto Rico were directly affected by power outages. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb has warned that the hurricane may cause shortages for more than 40 different drugs.
