Latin America Steps Up Data Privacy Legislative and Enforcement Efforts

Attorneys Adam Bookbinder, Mara O’Malley, Javier Robledo and Legal Intern Timothy Andrea wrote an article for the Global Data Review on the developments that Latin American countries have undergone to increase data privacy efforts. Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile have made substantial legislative changes and enforcement efforts to protect the privacy of their residents' personal data similar to the GDPR.

Companies doing business in Latin American or processing Latin American residents' data will have to pay close attention to these developments or face consequences.
