Understand the Difference between Telework and Remote Work
Labor attorney Carolina Castro de la Torre published an article in Asuntos Legales explaining the differences between telework and remote work. She explains that telework has been regulated since 2008 and is defined as "the development of work activities done outside the employer's facilities, at least two days a week, using information technology." On the other hand, remote work is the directive from the National Government, with the goal of mitigating the spread of COVID-19. She also responds to various questions about the obligations of the employer with respect to telework and other relevant points with respect to remote work.
