Legal ethics attorneys Nellie Barnard and Christopher Heredia co-authored an article on Model Rule 8.4(g) of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct for the Federal Bar Association's Federal Lawyer magazine. Adopted in 2016, the rule aims to reduce discrimination and bias in the legal profession. In this article, the authors review its history and scope, outline which states have adopted it and discuss recent challenges and the road ahead.
