BP Chief to Apologize for 'Complex' Accident in Gulf


Congressional Investigations Partner Gerry Sikorski, chair of the firm's Government Section, was quoted in a Bloomberg article titled, "BP Chief to Apologize for 'Complex' Accident in Gulf."

The article reports that BP Plc Chief Executive Officer Tony Hayward, in making his first appearance before Congress to face questions about the worst United States oil spill, will say multiple breakdowns led to the explosion at a Gulf of Mexico well. He was warned through a list of advance questions to expect a rough reception from lawmakers. Mr. Sikorski said that Congress has a tradition of summoning CEOs of companies, from banks to automakers, for public tongue-lashings. “You don’t succeed in these hearings, you survive,” he said.
