Wealthy Illinoisans Leaving State to Avoid Estate Taxes
Wealthy residents in Illinois are attempting to find ways around the state's inheritance tax. Residents are required to pay tax on estates that amount to more than $4 million, and estate planning practitioners are recommending an alternative for these individuals.
"I advise clients to move to a state that does not have an estate tax," said Private Wealth Services Partner Christine Albright.
