Local Breweries Strike a Blow Against Big Beer

Tampa Bay Times

Local craft breweries helped change a Florida House bill that could have put some small breweries out of business. The House bill would have legalized growlers, or half-gallon containers, something the craft brewers have wanted. But the bill also came with restrictions that would make it difficult for some small breweries to operate. A recent amendment removed those restrictions.

“Some folks recognized that there were problems that needed to be addressed,” said Alcohol Beverage Attorney Josh Aubuchon, who is also general counsel to the Florida Brewers Guild, a group of 90 local breweries in Florida.
