An Alaska Superior Court Judge Catherine Easter considered arguments regarding a dispute over a decision by Alaska Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell. Treadwell decided to prevent a set netter ban initiative from getting on to the state’s primary election ballot in August 2016. This comes from ballot initiative application for an urban commercial set net ban from Alaska Fisheries Conservation Alliance.
Litigation Partner Matt Singer represented Alaska Fisheries Conservation Alliance. Mr. Singer argued against Treadwell’s decision stating, "Alaskan voters have a long history of using ballot initiatives to protect fish and game."
