11th Circ. Upholds Fla. HIPAA Waiver Law

The Eleventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a key part of a controversial Florida medical malpractice law. The court found the law's requirement of prospective plaintiffs to sign a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) waiver is fully compliant with the act and its regulations.
