A local law banning assault weapons and large-capacity magazines in a suburb of Chicago doesn’t violate the Second Amendment, a divided U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit held April 27.
"The city was pleased that the court recognized its authority to provide for the protection and safety of its residents in the manner that it saw fit," attorney Steven Elrod, counsel for the city of Highland Park, told Bloomberg BNA April 30.
