Reducing distributed and automated cyber attacks were among many of the issues raised at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) meeting. Although this has been an ongoing issue for many years, government and industry policymakers are continuing to raise awareness about Internet of Things (IoT) cyber risks.
“The NIST meeting was a success, it revealed that the stakeholders can get to a general agreement and awareness that IoT cyber risks bring shared responsibility across the broader ecosystem, impacting device manufacturers, IT, cloud providers and others alike,” said Norma Krayem, Senior Policy Advisor and co-chair of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice at Holland & Knight.
