EU-U.S. Work on Police Access to Data Hits Roadblocks


In POLITICO's reportage of the European Union's efforts to negotiate a international deal to complement the new CLOUD Act bill, H.R. 4943 (115), Senior Policy Advisor Norma Krayem commented on the forces keeping the United States from getting involved.

According to Ms. Krayem, chair of the Global Cybersecurity & Privacy Policy and Regulation Team who previously held senior positions at the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State, "the U.S. perspective is focused on what can be done efficiently and quickly ... Negotiating with the EU has great value. The time constraints are what really worries people."
