CFE Blocking Pipeline Operations Prior to Contract Renegotiation: Mexico Energy Law Association

Energy attorney Claudio Rodríguez was quoted in an S&P Global Platts article about a contract dispute between Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (Comisión Federal de Electricidad, or CFE) and pipeline developers. He commented on the potential outcome of the dispute.
"This could become an inquisition board where the state will impose its position instead of a negotiation table," he said. Without releasing a certificate of operation, CFE would be "starting negotiations in bad faith," he added.
