Partner Mark Delegal was quoted in an Orlando Weekly
article describing how anxiety surrounding the COVID-19 virus is affecting ongoing budget negotiations in Florida's House and Senate. As people reconsider or cancel vacation plans, the state's tourism industry, which accounts for a major portion of tax revenue, could take a hit. Uncertainty about the magnitude of that hit could complicate the budget process.
"There’s a lot of uncertainty about the future of sales tax revenues related to tourism and general commerce," Mr. Delegal said. "The hope is the virus runs its course in the next couple of weeks and we’re back to business as usual."
