Coronavirus: Sports and Live Entertainment Ban will Roil the Economy

Senior Counsel Paul Loving provided his insight on the impact and ramifications of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the sports and entertainment industry. Mr. Loving highlighted the busy legal landscape that will follow the suspension of major sports leagues around the globe and described a cascading effect when large entities like the National Basketball Association suspend its season, from the athletes and coaches to the TV networks and advertisers.

"Suspension of the NBA flows down through everything that the league touches: Player contracts, and contracts they might have with their athletic apparel company," Mr. Loving said. "But you've also got vendor and concession agreements, you've got the lease for the facility, and the staff has employment agreements also impacted."
