Former Senate Finance Staffer Says Section 232 Reform Unlikely 'Any Time Soon'

International Trade Partner Nasim Fussell was cited in an International Trade Today article discussing the potential for tariff reform, specifically reform for Section 232 tariffs. Ms. Fussell said that lobbying on trade matters has increased as a result of the Trump administration's use of tariffs and escalating tensions with China. However, despite two proposed bills that would give Congress more of a say in Section 232 tariffs, she said she does not anticipate any changes, citing the lack of enough bipartisan support and pressure from industries most affected.
