Holland & Knight Hires First DFC General Counsel as Partner
Latin Lawyer published an article highlighting the recent hiring of Partner Kevin Turner, who previously served as the first general counsel of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). During his time with DFC, Mr. Turner worked on multiple financing transactions across Latin America, including loans to Mexican and Brazilian banks to support small and medium-sized enterprises and women-led companies. He also served as general counsel for the Export-Import Bank of the United States, advising on structured finance, aircraft, trade finance and insurance transactions. Partner José Sirven, who leads Holland & Knight's Business Section, said Mr. Turner's experience makes him a valuable addition to the firm's Latin America Team.
"As the first general counsel of the DFC, Kevin has experience in and understanding of U.S. government-backed international financing that is unique in the private sector," Mr. Sirven said. "Having served as general counsel for the two main U.S. government international financing agencies, he will provide our clients with a perspective that others in the finance space do not have."
