CMMC Stakeholders: Revised Timeline for RFPs, CEO Hire Show Commitment to Upholding High Standard

Inside Cybersecurity

Government Contracts Partner Eric Crusius was quoted in an Inside Cybersecurity article about new timeline modifications related to the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program rollout. The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) confirmed last week that the plan for contract solicitations with CMMC requirements has shifted from March to April or May. This revised timeline does not come as a surprise. Stakeholders agreed that the CMMC maturity levels required in each RFP needs to correspond with appropriate expectations to achieve the objectives outlined in a DOD contract while maintaining necessary security requirements.

“The timing of awards is highly dependent on the products or services being purchased by the Government and the methods the Government is using,” Mr. Crusius said. “Of course, there may be protests that prevent performance from actually starting for a time after that.”
