CRE Closes Terminals; Shortage Anticipated

Reforma

Energy Partner Claudio Rodríguez was interviewed for a Reforma article about the closing of three private sector fuel storage terminals by Mexico's Energy Regulatory Commission. He said that the decision makes clear that the Mexican government seeks to reposition Pemex without taking into consideration its capacity to supply the energy market.

"As occurred with medicines that a shortage was generated upon cutting the distribution networks that the private companies made and that the government did not have the capacity to supply the national market, there is an enormous risk of falling into the same situation with fuels and that Pemex does not have the capacity to supply the market," he explained.
