Foreign Companies with the Most Investment Projects in Latin America in 2023
La República
Energy attorney Claro Manuel Cotes was cited in an article published by La República about foreign direct investment in Latin America in 2023. The article highlighted that the metals and energy sectors led the attraction of foreign investment, with six companies in the top 10 that injected the most capital into the region. However, Mr. Cotes warned that efforts to diversify into other sectors face several challenges, such as deficient infrastructure and political instability.
"Another important challenge lies in security and political stability; any hint of political instability can deter the entry of new companies in sectors other than energy and fuels. Overcoming these challenges will require continuous efforts to ensure a safe environment for investment in a variety of economic sectors," he said.
