Holland & Knight Secures $7.5 Million Award in Arbitration Over Interest in IT Outsourcing Company

LOS ANGELES – A Holland & Knight team led by Paul Workman, a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office, has obtained an award in excess of $7.5 million for client Steve Ross in a hotly contested arbitration over the termination and valuation of Ross's interest in US Technology Resources LLC, the offshore-outsourcing company he founded in 1998.  US Technology Resources is now doing business as "UST Global."

The arbitration award has been confirmed by the Los Angeles Superior Court, and judgment has been entered in Ross's favor.

In a three-week hearing before an American Arbitration Association panel of neutral arbitrators, Holland & Knight lawyers secured payment to Ross of fair value for his founding interest in the company. The award also entitled Ross to the recovery of his attorneys' fees and expenses. The total amount of Ross's recovery was $7.54 million.

Prior to establishing US Technology Resources, Ross was a co-founder in 1992 of Catalina Marketing U.K. Pvt.
