Tampa, Fla. – January 23, 2012 - Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that George Howell, III, a partner in the firm's Tampa office, received the Parke Wright III Leadership Award from Leadership Tampa Alumni (LTA), a committee of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, at their annual meeting on January 18.
From serving as former director and president of the University Club of Tampa, the Tampa Historical Society, the University of Tampa Board of Counselors and the Exchange Club of Tampa to demonstrating his vision, courage and commitment in the planning, development and building of the Tampa History Center, Howell has been a driving force to make Tampa a better place.
In addition to the award, Howell was presented a $2,000 honorarium by Bronson Thayer of Lykes Bros. Inc., to be given to the charity of his choice. Lykes Bros. Inc. presents an honorarium to each year’s winner to honor and commemorate the leadership of Parke Wright III in all aspects of business, community and civic involvement.
Established in 2002, the Parke Wright III Leadership Award is presented annually to a member of Leadership Tampa Alumni who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and made a significant difference in the Tampa Bay community. The recipient must have demonstrated leadership in community service, exemplifying vision, courage, example, initiative, motivation, selflessness, commitment, dependability and accomplishment.
