Washington, D.C., (May 6, 2013) - Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Paul S. Bock has joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Public Policy & Regulation Practice Group, focusing his work on legislative and policy advocacy before Congress and the Obama administration in healthcare, antitrust, financial services, agriculture, transportation and energy. He will serve as the top Senate Democratic lobbyist for the practice.

"Paul's experience as a strategist working on Capitol Hill, both as a Senate staffer and as a lobbyist, will be a tremendous asset for us. Gerry Sikorski, head of the firm's Government practice and a former Congressman, added, "We are delighted to have Paul aboard. His legal credentials and experience serving as counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee and as Chief of Staff will be real assets to clients."
Mr. Bock has spent the past three years as a vice president for Capitol Hill Strategies, LLC, planning and implementing legislative strategies for corporate and governmental clients. Prior to that, he served as a Senate congressional affairs liaison for the Obama presidential transition team. Previously, he was Chief of Staff for Sen. Herb Kohl D-Wisc., from 1997 to 2009.

Mr. Bock also served as counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Government Information from 1995 to 1997. He was an associate at Mayer Brown & Platt in its Washington, D.C., office from 1992 to 1995, and he clerked for the Hon. Oliver Wanger, U.S. district judge for the Eastern District of California from 1991 to 1992. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, a master's degree from Georgetown University's Public Policy Program and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where he was associate editor of the Law Review.
