CHICAGO (May 15, 2014) - Chicago lawyer Gregory Brown is joining Holland & Knight's Corporate/M&A group as a partner. Mr. Brown focuses his practice on employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), mergers and acquisitions, and tax controversy and litigation. Mr. Brown was formerly a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
"Greg is a dean of ESOPs," said Michael Zdeb, who heads the firm's Business Section in Chicago. "He brings decades of experience working with employee benefits and related matters, and we are so pleased that he has chosen Holland & Knight as his new home."
Mr. Brown is a leading authority on ESOPs in the U.S. His practice also includes Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) fiduciary matters, tax-qualified retirement plans, executive compensation and ERISA litigation. He writes and speaks frequently on employee benefits law topics. He represents both closely held companies as well as national Fortune 500 publicly traded companies in a number of industries including food and beverage, healthcare, banking and financial services.
Mr. Brown received a B.S. degree from the University of Kentucky and a J.D. degree from the University of Illinois.
