ATLANTA (August 25, 2015) – Holland & Knight has gained a new senior public affairs advisor for its Georgia Government Relations Practice. Jeremy Collins, who most recently served as chief of staff to the Georgia Senate President Pro Tempore David Shafer, has joined the firm and will work with Holland & Knight’s existing team advocating for clients in the state’s Capitol. Mr. Collins was previously the political director for Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal’s 2010 campaign and then served as Gov. Deal’s liaison to the state Senate.
“We are extremely pleased to have Jeremy on our team,” said Robert Highsmith, deputy leader of Holland & Knight’s firmwide Public Policy & Regulation Group. “Holland & Knight has a top-shelf government affairs practice, and our clients will benefit from the knowledge and insight Jeremy brings from his years of service at the highest levels of Georgia’s government.”
“I’m excited about this next phase of my career and look forward to navigating the complexities of Georgia’s governmental processes on behalf of our clients,” said Mr. Collins. “Holland & Knight has an excellent reputation and I’m looking forward to helping it expand its local, state and national public policy practice in Georgia."
“There are multiple opportunities in Georgia for companies that engage with state and local government and the 2016 legislative session will be an important one for companies involved in gaming, healthcare and transportation,” Mr. Collins said.
