WASHINGTON (May 10, 2016) – Holland & Knight today announced that Ben Dunham has joined the firm’s Public Policy & Regulation Practice Group as a senior policy advisor. Mr. Dunham’s practice focuses on counseling clients on legislative and regulatory affairs with a particular emphasis on the consumer product and renewable energy industries. He has represented clients on issues related to the environment, chemical safety, climate change, over-the-counter drug safety, transportation and energy. He most recently was with Dentons in Washington.
Mr. Dunham served for nearly five year as a senior advisor to the late U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, including as counsel, legislative director and chief counsel. His experience includes directing the activities of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee’s Subcommittee on Superfund, Toxics and Environment Health under Chairman Lautenberg and negotiating a bipartisan bill to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act. He also managed staff efforts for the Senate Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, including drafting portions of the 2012 surface transportation bill.

Mr. Dunham speaks frequently on complex policy and political issues to a variety of audiences, including companies, trade associations and the public. He received a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina and a B.A. degree from the University of Alabama.
