SAN FRANCISCO (August 15, 2016) – Holland & Knight associate Carrie Friesen-Meyers has been selected as a 2016 "Rising Star" by Airfinance Journal. The trade publication identifies "Rising Stars" each year by asking readers around the globe to nominate promising young attorneys whom they feel best serve the aviation industry.
Ms. Friesen-Meyers focuses her practice on representing lessees, lessors, borrowers and lenders in connection with a broad range of complex financing transactions in the aviation sector.
"Carrie’s combination of analytical and organizational skills inspire confidence in our aviation finance and leasing clients. We count on her to play a key role on our challenging projects," said William Piels, the leader of Holland & Knight’s Structured Finance Team.
Ms. Friesen-Meyers played a leading role on the Holland & Knight team that advised and negotiated on behalf of Aviation Capital Group as an investor and servicer in connection with the formation of Bauhinia Aviation Capital. Bauhinia is a cross-border joint venture company among Aviation Capital Group and two Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed companies. The joint venture was formed to acquire and lease a portfolio of approximately 50 commercial jet aircraft having an expected value in excess of $2 billion, and Ms. Friesen-Meyers is currently working on the initial round of acquisitions and financings.
The award marks the third Holland & Knight attorney to be named an Airfinance Journal "Rising Star" in the past five years. Phillip Durham was selected in 2012, followed by Nathan Leavitt in 2014.
