BOSTON (November 15, 2019) – Holland & Knight Attorney Jean-Phillip Brignol has been selected for inclusion in The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Class of 2019 for Massachusetts. The National Black Lawyers is a professional and educational organization comprised of the nation's premier African American attorneys.
Membership in the Top 40 Under 40 is by invitation only. It is limited to 40 attorneys from each state who are under the age of 40 and who promote the organization's purpose through the services they provide for individuals, families and businesses in their state. The multi-phase selection process includes nominations from leading lawyers and current National Black Lawyers members, as well as third-party research.
Mr. Brignol is an associate in Holland & Knight's Boston office who focuses his practice on general litigation and appellate advocacy. He has engaged in state and federal litigation, arbitration and appellate matters involving breach of contract, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, toxic torts, product liability, consumer protection statutes, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) and trademark infringement. He also has assisted on white collar criminal defense matters.
In his pro bono practice, Mr. Brignol represents candidates for political asylum and special immigrant juvenile status in Boston Immigration Court, as well as parents of English language learners in federal litigation.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Brignol clerked for Chief Justice Chase T. Rogers of the Eastern District of New York. He also served as a judicial intern for U.S. District Judge Margo K. Brodie of the Eastern District of New York.
