Luis Guillermo Acero Gallego is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Bogotá office. He focuses his practice on the litigation and arbitration of civil, commercial, corporate, contentious administrative and constitutional matters, including contracts and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the energy industry and the environment.

Mr. Acero Gallego primarily represents public and private companies in civil and commercial matters, including financial and insurance law, tort and state liability issues, housing and mortgages, bankruptcy proceedings, and multiple contentious administrative and constitutional actions by environmental agencies. He has handled issues such as unfair competition and misleading advertising before judicial authorities and has been actively involved in due diligence processes and the writing of legal opinions.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Acero Gallego has taught procedural law at a number of educational institutions, including Universidad de los Andes and Universidad del Rosario, and has served as a Titular Professor at the Universidad Externado de Colombia since 2011.

Mr. Acero has developed an extensive experience in several matters that are processed before the Council of State, such as the intervention in important cases regarding environmental matters, liability actions, class actions and constitutional actions.
