Elaina Emerick Andrade is a Chicago litigation attorney who also practices transactional entertainment and media law.
In her litigation practice, Ms. Andrade focuses on product liability and represents clients in the media, transportation, insurance and finance industries. She assists clients in finding solutions to problems that minimize the risk of costly litigation.
In her entertainment practice, Ms. Andrade represents companies and individuals involved in film and television production, working with them before and during production on agreements, licensing, insurance, intellectual property and financing.
Ms. Andrade is well-versed on matters involving industry-specific issues such as content production, rights acquisition and licensing; analyzing defamation, privacy, copyright and trademark issues; as well as preparing all forms of agreement required for distribution and licensing of various media content.
In addition, Ms. Andrade advises clients regarding product recalls before the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). She has experience handling transactional disputes and business torts, including claims of fraud, breach of contract and protection of proprietary business assets such as trademarks and copyrights. Ms. Andrade also counsels in regards to insurance coverage disputes and eminent domain matters.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Andrade worked for three years as an elementary school teacher in the Miami-Dade County Public School system with Teach For America.
