Liz A. Austin is a Denver attorney and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Ms. Austin handles a variety of corporate litigation and criminal defense matters. Her corporate litigation practice focuses in the areas of energy, natural resources, premises liability and employment law, including trade secret and non-compete disputes. Ms. Austin also has experience defending against class action lawsuits.
Ms. Austin brings a unique background to her employment law practice to better assist corporate clients with decision making. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Austin worked in the corporate office of a large retail company based in San Francisco. In this role, she helped develop and implement a new-hire onboarding program company-wide, met regularly with supervisors from the director level through senior vice presidents in regard to associate development plans, goal setting and workshop department processes, and handled employee-to-supervisor mediation.
Ms. Austin also has experience with corporate litigation and criminal defense matters through her work in private practice and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Criminal Defense Clinic. Through the clinic, Ms. Austin served indigent clients through both written practice and court appearances.
Ms. Austin is passionate about K-12 education and involvement, stemming from her background as a Teach for America member, where she taught middle school literacy and math in the Mississippi Delta region.
