Jenna Bigornia is a Boston business and healthcare attorney, and is a member of the firm's Healthcare and Life Sciences Team. Ms. Bigornia focuses her practice on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters. She counsels a variety of members of the healthcare and life sciences industry, including pharmacy benefit managers, mail order, specialty and long term care pharmacies, medical device manufacturers, and healthcare technology companies. Ms. Bigornia often advises clients in matters involving interpretation and enforcement of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, the federal False Claims Act (FCA), and the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Ms. Bigornia also assists with preparing and implementing compliance materials in these areas, as well as with structuring contracts and business models.
In addition, Ms. Bigornia frequently conducts healthcare due diligence in connection with corporate transactions. This includes addressing licensure matters relating to changes of ownership, assessing potential healthcare regulatory issues as may be identified through diligence, and providing advice and strategies for risk mitigation.
