Jenna Bigornia is a Boston business and healthcare attorney, and is a member of the firm's Healthcare and Life Sciences Team. Ms. Bigornia focuses her practice on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters. She counsels a variety of members of the healthcare and life sciences industry, including pharmacy benefit managers, mail order, specialty and long-term care pharmacies, drug and medical device manufacturers, wholesalers, and healthcare service companies. Ms. Bigornia often advises clients in matters involving interpretation and enforcement of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, the federal False Claims Act (FCA), and the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Ms. Bigornia also assists with preparing and implementing compliance materials in these areas, as well as with structuring contracts and business models.

In addition, Ms. Bigornia frequently conducts healthcare due diligence in connection with corporate transactions. This includes addressing licensure matters relating to changes of ownership, assessing potential healthcare regulatory issues as may be identified through diligence, and providing advice and strategies for risk mitigation. Ms. Bigornia also assists clients in analyzing potential fraud and abuse matters, addressing board of pharmacy issues, conducting internal investigations and responding to government inquiries and enforcement actions, including civil investigations by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) Office of the Inspector General, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Ms. Bigornia is the co-chair of the Pro Bono Committee at Holland & Knight's Boston office, as well as a member of the Boston office’s Diversity Committee. She also was selected to participate in Holland & Knight’s Rising Star program, a year-long leadership and professional development program designed to advance the careers of women within the firm.
