William H. Burchette is a partner in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office. For more than 25 years, he has represented rural electric cooperatives and municipal electric clients in all aspects of the electric utility industry. Mr. Burchette has represented clients in a range of state and federal courts as well as regulatory agencies across the nation.
As an experienced litigator, Mr. Burchette has assisted clients with a range of matters, including the development of hydroelectric and other power generation assets; negotiation of price and supply contracts with large industrial and municipal users; compliance with state and federal regulations; establishment of rate structures; and management of corporate governance. In addition, he has extensive knowledge of the industry and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment.
Mr. Burchette served as a captain in the United States Marine Corps and as a trial attorney in the Land and Natural Resources Section of the Department of Justice from 1968 to 1976.
