Overview

Todd Burski is a partner in Holland & Knight's Tysons office. He practices in the firm's Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions Team and represents clients in a variety of industries in public and private mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, divestitures, cross-border transactions, financings and other corporate matters.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Burski practiced law as a corporate attorney in New York and Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Burski also has extensive business experience in management consulting, corporate strategy and development, financial analysis, supply chain management and new business startups.

Experience

  • Represented a large international cable company in its acquisition of another large international cable company in a stock and cash merger
  • Represented a global leader in specialty chemicals in its divestiture of one of the leading salt producers in North America to one of the world's leading suppliers of standard and specialty fertilizers
  • Represented a global leader in specialty chemicals in its divestiture of its calcium chloride assets to an international oil and gas exploration and production company
  • Represented a global leader in specialty chemicals in the proposed formation of a 50/50 global petrochemicals joint venture with an international producer of ammonia and chemical fertilizers and the proposed transfer its polyethylene business to the joint venture
  • Represented a provider of internet service on airplanes in its reorganization from a Delaware limited liability company to a Delaware corporation
  • Represented various companies — including a global private equity firm; a global design, development and engineering company; and a leading commercial information and business insight company — in their diligence and evaluation efforts of potential acquisition targets

  • Represented a Middle Eastern lighting manufacturing company, and its primary private equity investor, in its acquisition of a Malaysian lighting manufacturing company
  • Represented a Middle Eastern national investment and development company in its investment and strategic partnership with a Brazilian investment company
  • Represented a leading independent healthcare ratings company in its sale, by means of a tender offer, to a private equity firm
  • Represented a global leader in specialty chemicals in its carve-out and divestiture of its plastics, latex and rubber businesses to a private equity firm
  • Represented one of the leading internet sources of health and medical news in its sale of its advanced porous materials subsidiary to a private equity firm

  • Represented an Angolan company in its joint venture investment with the world's largest offshore drilling company
  • Represented an Angolan company in its joint venture investment with one of the world's largest shipping companies
  • Represented one of the world’s leading providers of integrated logistics in its joint venture investment with a global telecom company and a regional telecom company

  • Represented a Middle Eastern national oil company in a variety of general corporate projects including sales contracts, operating agreements and free trade agreements
  • Represented a business unit of a Middle Eastern national investment and development company acting as legal counsel during a seven-month secondment

  • Represented a Middle Eastern national investment and development company in various venture capital investments
