Jeremy Collins is a senior public affairs advisor in Holland & Knight's Atlanta office and a member of the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group. Mr. Collins focuses his practice on state and local government affairs. He has extensive experience working with the Office of the Governor, Georgia General Assembly and executive state agencies.
Before joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Collins served as chief of staff to the Georgia Senate President Pro Tempore. During Mr. Collins' role as chief of staff, he coordinated legislative priorities on behalf of the State Senate with the Office of the Governor, Speaker of the House, executive agencies, business communities, as well as state and national associations and their advocates.
Prior to working in the Georgia Senate, Mr. Collins served Gov. Nathan Deal in a variety of capacities, including serving as his liaison to the State Senate, deputy executive director of his 2011 inauguration, and as political director of his 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
During his time serving as Gov. Deal's liaison to the State Senate, Mr. Collins implemented and executed the governor's legislative priorities in the State Senate, which included 25 bills in addition to significant executive state agency legislation. Mr. Collins also monitored all legislation in the State Senate and served as Gov. Deal's spokesperson to the State Senate and the Lieutenant Governor's office.
Before moving to Georgia, Mr. Collins lived in Florida where he worked at the Florida Department of Transportation in legislative affairs. He also served in positions working on statewide and presidential campaigns.
