David Cox is a Washington, D.C., attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of construction law, government contracts and commercial litigation. Mr. Cox represents owners, general contractors and subcontractors in various contract disputes involving industrial, heavy civil, commercial and residential construction. His practice includes representing clients in disputes concerning delays, cost overruns, change orders, payment disputes, requests for equitable adjustment, differing site conditions, termination and defects among others.
Mr. Cox represents clients before federal and state courts, the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and American Arbitration Association (AAA).
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Cox litigated construction defect cases and insurance coverage involving developers, general contractors and subcontractors.
Mr. Cox earned his bachelor's degree in construction management and has construction managerial experience in both the field and office. Since 2009, he has been certified as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He is also an Associate Constructor with the American Institute of Constructors.
