Joseph De Metro is a New York real estate attorney who focuses his practice on commercial leasing matters. Mr. De Metro has significant experience representing a variety of prestigious landlords and tenants in connection with all areas of leasing office, retail and mixed-used projects throughout the New York City and national markets.
Mr. De Metro regularly counsels landlords and developers with all facets of leasing matters in their respective portfolios, from term stage and lease negotiation, to on-going leasing strategy and interpretation of rights and obligations. In addition, Mr. De Metro also has substantial experience in representing first-class tenants, including, national retailers, national banking associations and co-working space tenants in connection with the negotiation and structuring of leasehold interests (e.g., direct leasing, subleasing and sale-leaseback).
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. De Metro was an associate in the New York City office of an international law firm, as well as internal real estate corporate counsel for a Fortune 200 global coffee and food retailer.
