Michael DeAgro is a healthcare attorney who provides healthcare regulatory and corporate counsel to providers on operational matters, compliance matters, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial business arrangements. Based in Holland & Knight's Miami office, he works with clients across various industry sectors, including hospitals, behavioral health providers, telemedicine providers, physician groups, pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers, ambulatory surgery centers, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care providers, intellectual and development disabilities (IDD) services providers, air ambulance suppliers and medical device suppliers.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. DeAgro was a healthcare attorney for a leading Nashville-based law firm with a prominent national healthcare practice, where he served providers on a range of regulatory issues. Before that, Mr. DeAgro served as an in-house attorney for a large healthcare system in the D.C. region, where he worked primarily with hospitals and behavioral health providers on regulatory and transactional matters.

Prior to law school, Mr. DeAgro co-founded a successful national nonprofit organization that advocates for policies and community initiatives that further substance use disorder services, and provides related services through approximately 50 grassroots-led chapters located across the country. With a passion for and strong background in behavioral health delivery, Mr. DeAgro now leverages his five years of nonprofit management experience to further understand clients' business goals and challenges, as well as the communities they serve. His healthcare business acumen allows him to provide pragmatic counsel on complex issues, bridging compliance and business objectives.
