William S. Dufoe is a retired senior partner in Holland & Knight's Tampa office. For nearly 35 years, Mr. Dufoe represented clients in a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, real estate litigation, construction disputes, professional liability, product liability, civil fraud and unfair competition. Although Mr. Dufoe’s litigation practice consisted primarily of commercial matters, he also defended personal injury and wrongful death claims. He advocated on behalf of parties in trial and appellate courts and before arbitration tribunals. In addition to his primary focus on litigation, Mr. Dufoe provided advice and counsel to clients concerning contract issues, risk management and other business matters.
Later in his career, Mr. Dufoe transitioned to limiting his practice to serving as a neutral in alternative dispute resolution procedures such as mediation and arbitration. He was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a mediator in civil matters and mediated cases in the circuit courts of Florida since 1992. He also served as an arbitrator and court-appointed special master.
