Overview

Carrie Friesen-Meyers is a partner in Holland & Knight's San Francisco office and practices in the area of structured finance. Ms. Friesen-Meyers represents borrowers, lenders, lessors and lessees in connection with a broad range of complex financing transactions in a wide variety of industries. Typical transactions include cross-border financing transactions, joint venture formations, project financings, commercial and private jet acquisitions, asset-based loan facilities, leveraged and single-investor lease transactions, acquisition financings and restructuring/exit financings.

Ms. Friesen-Meyers' representative matters include:

  • Representing a California-based company in connection with its formation of a cross-border joint venture with two Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed companies; the joint venture was formed to acquire and lease a portfolio of assets having an expected value in excess of $2 billion
  • Counseling large financiers in connection with pre-delivery payment facilities involving hundreds of millions of dollars
  • Representing a lender in a $288.1 million project finance facility for Chicago O’Hare International Airport
  • Representing one of the largest department stores in the United States in its $1.5 billion senior secured term loan facility and its $1.85 billion senior secured asset-based facility
  • Representing an American multinational banking and financial services corporation in its $300 million exit facility for the Tribune Company and certain of its subsidiaries

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Friesen-Meyers practiced in a top-tier New York law firm. Immediately after graduating from Harvard Law School, she clerked for one year with U.S. District Judge David O. Carter in the Central District of California.

Ms. Friesen-Meyers has lived, worked or traveled in over 30 countries.
