Mac Griffin is a Jacksonville litigation attorney who focuses his practice on insurance and construction-related litigation. His practice includes management of insurance coverage cases, homeowners and commercial insurance disputes, wrongful death and general carrier representation.
Mr. Griffin is experienced in handling complex state and federal court actions. He defends fortune 500 companies in real estate insurance disputes, including bad faith and extra-contractual issues. Mr. Griffin also represents builders, developers, owners and contractors in a wide variety of construction-related matters, including lien disputes, construction defect claims and other contractual disputes.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Griffin defended a wide variety of contractors and developers in multimillion-dollar construction defect cases, and also practiced in various commercial and personal injury litigation. He started his Florida legal career as in-house counsel with a mortgage servicing vendor, handling all legal matters on behalf of the company and minimizing legal exposure to the company's clients. Before moving to Jacksonville, Mr. Griffin began his practice in a boutique firm in Cincinnati, Ohio. During this time, he conducted multiple juvenile bench trials and gained experience in personal injury and domestic relations law.
Mr. Griffin is committed to community and pro bono work. Recently, he has helped veterans with various contract disputes, and he has successfully assisted Florida inmates in obtaining reduced criminal sentences pursuant to Florida's First Step Act.
