Overview

Allan Holder is a data privacy attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Mr. Holder focuses his practice on providing practical guidance to cutting-edge technology, telecommunications and media companies to help them navigate through rapidly evolving legal, policy and regulatory landscapes.

Mr. Holder advises clients on an array of federal and state regulatory issues regarding privacy and data protection, as well as internet and technology policy. His portfolio of matters includes online content moderation, children's online safety and digital accessibility.

Mr. Holder's recent representative experience includes:

  • advising a major technology company on cutting-edge issues involving emerging artificial intelligence (AI) regulation, as well as U.S., United Kingdom, European and Brazilian data protection requirements to assist in the development of legal compliance software
  • assisting major multinational corporations in negotiations of data processing agreements subject to U.S. and European Union (EU) data protection laws
  • preparing analyses of the impact of new and proposed data protection, AI and online safety bills on technology and media clients' products and services

While in law school, Mr. Holder was senior online content editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and gained valuable experience as a student advocate for the Samuelson Law, Technology and Public Policy Clinic.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Holder was a technology and telecommunications attorney for an international law firm in its New York offices.
