Saqib Z. Hossain is a Boston attorney and a member of Holland & Knight's Public Policy & Regulation Group. Mr. Hossain focuses his practice on a wide variety of transactional and regulatory matters in the energy space, with a concentration on renewable energy projects.
Mr. Hossain represents project developers, investors and other public and private entities in the development, financing, permitting, construction and operation of solar, wind, and other power generation and transmission facilities. In addition, Mr. Hossain is experienced with advising clients on corporate merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions involving energy and non-energy assets.
As part of his practice, Mr. Hossain also advises clients on energy regulatory and policy issues before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), as well as state public utility commissions (PUCs), and regional transmission organizations (RTOs) and independent system operators (ISOs).
In 2019 and 2020, Mr. Hossain undertook a 10-month secondment at one of the world's largest offshore wind developers, gaining extensive first-hand experience in regulatory, permitting and commercial matters related to the development of offshore wind generation projects.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Hossain served as in-house counsel to a Boston-based national solar development company.
