Brianna Ricqué Howard is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Los Angeles office and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Ms. Howard has successfully represented clients in commercial and intellectual property disputes in state and federal courts.

Ms. Howard's litigation practice primarily focuses on complex commercial disputes representing clients across a broad spectrum of industries in all phases of litigation. Her experience covers a variety of legal issues, including complex commercial disputes, product liability, alcohol licensing, trade secrets, trademark and copyright, life sciences litigation as well as real estate litigation.

As part of her intellectual property litigation practice, Ms. Howard assists entertainment companies, technology innovators, software developers and major corporations. With a legal background in esports and virtual reality, Ms. Howard works with investors, entertainers and companies with strategic litigation planning and risk management.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Howard externed for the Honorable Judge Saundra B. Armstrong of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. In addition, she served as executive editor of the Hastings' Women's Law Journal, and was deemed national champion of the BMI Entertainment and Communications Law Moot Court Competition.

In the community, Ms. Howard is a coach of her alma mater's nationally ranked moot court team and volunteers for a number of health organizations, including National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Pulmonary Hypertension Association.

  • Assisted in representing art and cultural institutions in connection with the Foreign Sovereign Immunity Act (FSIA) against challenges over possession of property confiscated or lost during times of conflict
  • Provided assistance to a multimillion-dollar property management company in connection with allegations of antitrust, unfair competition and breach of contract claims
  • Assisted in representing universities in matters involving construction litigation and related real property claims
  • Represented a same-sex couple against a national airline for claims based on the Unruh Civil Rights Act (Unruh Act) and breach of contract; case resulted in favorable settlement for client
  • Assisted in representing a trucking company assert claims of breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty
  • Assisted in representing large companies defend against claims involving asbestos exposure and wrongful death

  • Assisted in representing an international fashion brand against a Chinese clothing design company in connection with copyright infringement and fraud claims
  • Advised a political influencer and activist on trademark violations and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notices against numerous fast-fashion brands
  • Assisted in representing a property software company assert claims of copyright infringement, trade secrets, unfair competition and breach of contract against competitor company
  • Represented an international entertainer and influencer defend against claims involving misappropriation and right of publicity
  • Assisted in advising a startup gaming company with general contract and copyright licensing needs
