Kerby R. Kniss is a Chicago business attorney and is a member of the Holland & Knight's Financial Services Team. Ms. Kniss focuses her practice on a wide array of finance transactions as well as general corporate matters.
Ms. Kniss represents institutional lenders, mezzanine lenders, agents and borrowers in syndicated credit facilities, senior-secured credit facilities, second-lien facilities, term debt facilities, asset-based credit facilities and commercial real estate credit facilities.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Kniss served as an intern at a financial institution where she helped the institution's compliance department draft new federal, state and local pay-to-play policies. She also worked as a law clerk at a Chicago-based law firm and wrote an amicus brief to the Illinois Supreme Court regarding the Illinois Department of Commerce's stance on the state's whistleblower statute.
During law school, Ms. Kniss served as managing editor on the editorial board of The John Marshall Law Review. As an undergraduate, Ms. Kniss served as a student editor for the Illinois State Bar Association Newsletter. She also interned at the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where she helped raise awareness about housing discrimination in the Chicagoland area.
